ACK Gioia (Joy-ahh) is a mother/daughter team that specializes in producing fresh, handmade artisan mozzarella, burrata, and stracciatella cheese at our retail location located in Brewster, MA on Cape Cod. We are also a retail store and cafe selling our handmade cheese as well as a curated selection of outsourced cheeses from around the US and the world, fresh and dried pasta, sauces, olive oils, crackers, charcuterie boxes to-go, freshly baked focaccia, sourdough ciabatta, and Nantucket honey (produced by Elizabeth’s husband David, “Bee Happy Honey Company”.) We serve breakfast and lunch daily with a selection of delicious sandwiches and salads using only the highest quality meats, cheeses, and bread. Every sandwich is made to order. We have a large outdoor deck for dining and offer a well curated selection of beer and wine.
ACK Gioia is mother-daughter-owned producing artisan, hand-pulled cheese themselves. Elisabeth was born in Ferrara, Italy, and raised in Naples. She met her husband David in Rome while she was studying for her translation degree. They ultimately settled on Nantucket Island where they have been for the last thirty-plus years. Elisabeth started making cheese for family and friends in 2011 because she missed the fresh cheeses in Italy. From there word started to spread and ACK Gioia was born. Elizabeth’s daughter Alexandra got involved and they’ve sold their cheese on Nantucket for the past 12 years. Alex moved to Cape Cod in 2019 and they decided to open a retail location in Brewster.
